Safety, Sustainability and Service

Having introduced thousands of international students to the wonder of the Himalayan outdoors, it is understandable that safety is always our top priority.

Our experienced team of rafters, climbers and naturalists are regarded as the most professional in the country. All our adventure equipment meets international quality standards, is tested for safety and is certified for use.

We love the Indian outdoors. It is our home so it is natural that all our programmes are designed with the intention of combining adventure with Eco-sense. We are proud of our ecologically-friendly operations that conserve the environment and local culture.

Social responsibility is an important aspect of our operations and is included in our student programmes. We, and our guests, support a number of community and wildlife programmes including First Aid clinics, an elephant orphanage and support for disadvantaged children.

Ajeet: Adventurer and Explorer

A description of Snow Leopard Adventures is incomplete without mentioning Managing Director and Founder, Ajeet Bajaj.

Ajeet is the first Indian to have completed the much coveted Polar Trilogy comprising skiing to the North Pole, to the South Pole and across the Greenland Icecap. With over 25 years of experience in adventure sports, he is the first Asian to have rafted and kayaked some of the most challenging rivers spanning six continents.

Ajeet is a member of the National Tourism Advisory Council and has chaired numerous committees including Adventure, Wildlife and Eco-tourism for the 11th National Plan (Ministry of Tourism). Ajeet is a Fellow, Royal Geographical Society and an Honorary Director of the Himalayan Environmental Trust.

He served on the advisory board for the Adventure Travel Trade Association world summit in Mexico in 2011 and is a member of the Training and Education Workgroup of Global Sustainable Tourism Council (a United Nations World Tourism Organisation).

This was our third trip to Rishikesh [with Snow Leopard] and each time they get better and better. Something happens up there that just changes peoples' thinking.
